Attention Money Warriors
Updated: Aug 4, 2019
I've recently been reading with my son The Way of the Warrior Kid by Jocko Willink. We actually started with book 2: Marc's Mission, but having loved the book, we plan to go back and read the original book too.
Even my son's comment to me last night was "there are a lot of good lessons in that book, mom".
In particular, we were discussing understanding the value of the things we have (i.e. it cost money to buy our toys, etc.), and the importance of taking good care of them. This has lead to alot of great discussions: some about money, and the fact that we don't have an endless supply, but also about consumerism and environmental issues due to today's mindset of "throw it out and get a new one". There are also great lessons on earning your own money - and that's just scratching the surface of the lessons in the book.
If you're looking for some quality reading that kids can really relate to, you may want to check this book out!
